EOWC Advocacy Day at Queen’s Park

The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus concluded a highly successful advocacy day at Queen’s Park on Monday 11th May.

The advocacy day culminated in a packed reception attended by municipal leaders, provincial officials, and business partners. The event featured remarks from:

  • Premier Doug Ford
  • Hon. Rob Flack
  • Hon. Steve Clark
  • MPP Stephen Blais
  • MPP Mike Schreiner

Representing 103 municipalities from across the region, EOWC members participated in a full day of strategic meetings with provincial decision-makers, including 16 meetings with Ministers, Parliamentary Assistants, and Members of Provincial Parliament, reflecting the Province’s continued engagement with eastern Ontario municipalities and the importance of the region’s priorities.

I was pleased to join EOWC staff and elected officials in meeting with the Ministry of Health, the reception with the Premier and several MPPs and Ministers, and in meeting with Minister Quinn on key advocacy issues related to community paramedicine priorities, the evolution of paramedicine education, and the self-regulation of paramedics in Ontario. These are priority items to ensure the continued advancement of paramedicine to meet community needs in Ontario, and to strengthen our workforce and sovereignty needs.

Thanks to Meredith, Jessica, Chair Clark and all of the EOWC for their continued support and advocacy.
