Speaking

I’m Irish…and as you may know, we love to talk! Although, I’ve never actually kissed the Blarney Stone. I enjoy speaking to groups of healthcare professionals, students and members of the public about various aspects of education, practice, and research. I have previously spoken to groups of varying sizes, at venues all around the world, on a wide range of topics including:

  • Evidence based practice
  • Reflective practice
  • Research
  • Pharmacology
  • Pediatric and neonatal care
  • Disaster preparedness and response
  • Major incident management
  • Challenges providing prehospital care
  • Simulation and debriefing
  • High-risk care provision (infectious diseases)
  • Patient safety
  • Fire-based EMS
  • Clinical audit
  • Social media
  • International EMS systems
  • Prehospital trauma care
  • Cardiac arrest
  • Sepsis
  • Airway management
  • Professionalism, scope of practice and CPD

In addition, I have published, presented and taught in relation to several other areas such as patient advocacy, provider well-being and safety, paramedic education, ethics and ethical issues, research ethics, open-access publication and more that I would be delighted to share my thoughts on. Some of my personal interests include camping, hiking, travelling, photography, genealogy and weather – just in case you have something slightly different in mind!

Please feel free to contact me if you’re interested in engaging my services as a speaker at your event, or providing a guest lecture to your students, faculty or employees.
