Huge congratulations to my PhD student Michelle O’Toole, who won Most Influential Person of the Year at the inaugural National Blue Light Awards, recognising her leadership and advocacy for frontline workers, their families and support networks.

Michelle’s PhD research (which is coming to a close very soon…) has explored the HUGS@Home programme for friends and family members of those who work as first responders. Extremely impactful work, and it is great to see continued recognition of Michelle’s leadership in this space.
