I was recently nominated for the Monash Graduate Association’s 2024 Supervisor of the Year Award at Monash University by my PhD students Michelle, Cheryl, Adam, and Jen and Honour’s student Tyne as a group nomination.
The MGA Supervisor of the Year Award, established in 1992, was created to acknowledge excellence in research supervision practice. The award is presented to one nominated supervisor who has created the most supportive, stimulating and inspirational research environment for their graduate research students this year.
I am honoured and humbled by the nomination, and I am proud that this group felt compelled to nominate me. It highlights to me the key role that a supportive supervisor relationship has for graduate students, and I will continue to strive to provide that support.
